Whether it be hard-laced barbs or highly metaphoric reflections; one quickly understands that this is a force to be recokoned with. Considering himself to be a well rounded artist Scofield hits you from all angles. Depending on the soundscape provided he can provide stunning visuals or catchy stanzas destined to become part of the urban venacular. Take a moment to enter the world of Scofield…. Monthly Hip Hop Cypher w/ DJ Slot-A – 6:30p

The monthly hip hop cypher features some of Chicago’s best signed and unsigned talent!

Slot-A is a multi-talented DJ and producer who crafts stirring compositions that appeal to a widespread audience. His vast knowledge and the ability to construct songs that display a deep range have made him synonymous with first-class music.

Establishing his name around Chicago by creating intricate beats and captivating remixes, Slot-A has become a go to producer in his hometown and abroad. He has produced music for a range of artists including: Add-2, Maino, L.E.P. Bogus Boys, YP and Chuuwee among many others. Slot’s music also served as the theme song for the E! TV series “Kiss and Tell” with Mr. Robotic.

Once he honed his producing talents, he naturally progressed into becoming a DJ, pulling from his experience as a beat conductor. Inspired by his favorite producers Dr. Dre and Just Blaze, Slot joined Chicago’s longest running Hip Hop mix show, The Hip Hop Project, creating underground and open format sets. He generated over one-thousand listeners with his unique performances, which also afforded him the opportunity to serve as the primary DJ for Chicago MC, Neak’s 25 city tour.

Slot-A’s appreciation for all genres of music is one of the many things separating him from his contemporaries. He has consistently landed coverage on 2DopeBoyz, Hip HopDX, KevinNottingham and okayplayer; including his latest project, Power of Intention, which features 40 minutes of instrumentals that he solely mixed, blended and produced. He is also producing four tracks on Jamall Bufford’s (formerly Buff1) upcoming solo record, Victim of a Modern Age, on the renowned Mello Music Group imprint.

On any given day, you can catch Slot in the studio working on tracks for various artists as well as his own projects. Despite a jam-packed production schedule, he still finds time for touring and club dates infecting as many places possible with his unforgettable high-energy performances.

 

Epik1, is an emcee/radio host/producer/sound engineer/DJ/Promoter/Battle rapper/graphic designer,from Chicago IL. He was introduced to the elements of hip hop through graffiti and breaking. Shortly after started Free styling ,making beats,writing rhymes,plus recording his own music independently.

Epik1 became known around the local hip hop scene by entering open Mics and Rap battles also performing at venues such as Subterranean,Cafe Lura,The Shrine,DoubleDoor,Jerry’s,Mutiny,Metro,Lokal,Quenchers saloon,Lillys,@North Bar,Redline Tap,The Pony,private events also other venues threw out the Midwest.

As Epik1 continues to gain momentum,He has been an opening act too many major hip-hop artist including Rhymefest ,kids in the hall,Tania Morgan,cormega,binary star,ras Kass, Killa priest etc.releasing his first album entitled EPIK1.0 which is currently available on iTunes,Spotify,Google play Amazon and all major online distributions.His album is currently available in 6 major record stores in Chicago land area including Gramaphone’s,Dusty grooves,reckless records.Epik1 wrote ,designed,mixed and mastered his album himself. With 3 videos on YouTube including “soul by the ton” and “clap” in which he did the video editing for.

Since 2016 he has joined a national battle rap league called “no coast battles” and has stepped his freestyle battle raps to writing for opponents and is currently 3 battles deep on YouTube.generating a lot of hype and attention internationally.
In 2017 he teamed up with DjsystemIV co hosting and Djing on “crucial rhythms” 88.7 FM WLUW.Org every Sunday from 10 PM to midnight.

Epik1 is currently working on his second project EPIK1.2 that will include Certified gold artist Wordsworth.also underground hip hop legends such as add2, Akbar, Copywrite and others local Chicago emcees.

To this day, Epik1 creates and promotes the classic hip hop vibe that he grew up on, to spread his unique but recognizable style that is a favorite of nostalgic and underground hip hop heads worldwide.

 

Refusing to ever conform Cochise Soulstar is a Chicago original with songs touching on space travel to sneakers he is a masterful emcee with clever social commentary.

DRXQUINNX – 7:30pm

DRXQUINNX is an independent, multitalented artist – emcee, producer, and DJ – based out of Chicago. He is also one-third of the midwest trio Doppelganger, with Detroit artist Denmark Vessey and Florida producer Azarias. Growing up, Quinn found himself influenced by artists such as Madlib, Kanye West, J Dilla, Lupe Fiasco, and Mos Def — all of whom inspired his heavily sampled production and rap style. DRXQUINNX is now known for his unorthodox rap and production style, which melds 90’s boom bap/breakbeat jazz, new age EDM, trap, as well as 8-bit and punk elements.
