Gabe’s Corner f/ Bump J, Epik 1 & Angry Blackmen

This week’s top 3 picks are stellar songs from Chicago’s finest emcees. Bump J keeps slaying the competition, Epik 1 takes a break from battling the entire city to collaborate with a living legend, and two Angry Blackmen show you how to smile. There’s a lot to unpack. Dive in to this week’s Gabe’s Corner! Splash!

Bump J – I Want It All

Since Bump got home earlier this year, he’s spanked everything he’s touched. His latest video and single, I want it all leaves no stone unturned about Bump’s wants and there’s no doubt in my mind, which songs like this, he’s going to get them.

Epik 1 f/ Wordsworth – Gamblers Remorse

There’s one way to get our attention here at Radio One Chicago, one, make a great song, or two, hook up with a living legend and make a great song. Epik1, friend of the show, one of Chicago’s best emcees and also the host of WLUW’s Crucial Rhythms on Tuesdsay nights drops off a great song with hip hop royalty, Wordsworth titled, Gamblers Remorse.

Gamblers Remorse, the head nodding jawn is a time traveling experience when dope lyrics were placed on a pedestal and the track is able to breathe so the emcees get their shine on. Play this twice, then again because it demands it.

Angry Blackmen – Smile

Angry Blackmen, Chicago’s first super duo, this according to band members, Quentin Branch and Brian Warren. The dynamic duo release their latest single, Smile, produced by Quentin Branch, a beat that was 2 years in the making. The end product was worth the wait, the late summer, smooth knocking and quiet storm hook lifts this track up. There’s a whole lot to smile about this, so I hope QB and Brian will stop being so damn angry.
