Welcome to this week’s Corner, the Radio One Chicago inbox was bursting at the seams with hot shit. Chicago really balled out, and I’m not talking about the weak ass Bulls either, Chicago hip hop really put on this week. Let’s dive in.
Nick Carter Green dropped two heaters this week, Breanna and Haley, which we will feature in this week’s Gabe’s Corner. Haley is tough, rugged and raw as fuck! And also includes some of Chicago’s finest emcees on one track! Who does that? NCG! Nick has a new album, Darker Shades due out soon, we’ll keep an eye on when the drop date is announced, but if you’re readying your keys to the game, you will quickly realize Darker Shades is going to be flames.

Tia London also dropped 2 gems in one week, She Gone Get It and Favors. The Legendary Traxster and Tia get cooking again, and of course the shit is fuego, and has tons of soul and flavor, do yourself a favor, and get you a bowl below.

So the Private Stock folks came through Radio One last month and just poured tons of game and information on us, and they also let us know L.A. Van Gogh had some shit on the burner, and was ready to pop off. So to my surprise, Bitter Berries lands in my air buds (nah, fucking with you, I have some 5 and below shits, but if you want to send me some air buds, hit me on the social medias, I’m ouchea) and the way I felt about Raekwon’s Marvin, this record is also important and includes in some built in insight, and reflection and a wonderful production to hold it together. Settle in for this one.

I call Drake’s More Life, More Struggle, and I don’t care if you hate me for that, that album is weak as fuck, sue me, or tweet me (tweet me instead for real, for real) but Joey Purp smashes Drake’s Gyalchester and puts his own style on it, and now it smells like new money. Joey did that, Joey can do anything. But you already knew that.

Until next week, if you want to be considered and have your music featured on a future Gabe’s Corner, click here, and send that hotness over. We do listen to your records, so trust us, I mean me, trust me.
